While people from all over the world travel to Japan during the cherry blossom season, few people are aware of the impressive natural spectacle that unfolds on Sylt at the end of May and beginning of June: the magnificent blossom of the Rosa Rugosa, the Sylt rose.
Growing in lush bushes, it glows in shades of delicate white and vibrant pink along the dunes and in the island’s gardens. Its sweet fragrance fills the air, unmistakably heralding the start of summer on Sylt—a colorful, unique spectacle. Experience a brief yet intense getaway centered around the Sylt rose. These special days at the Söl’ring Hof combine an airy, fragrant atmosphere, culinary sophistication, and the island’s beauty into an evocative, memorable experience.
Discover the culinary diversity of the Sylt dog rose in our rose cooking course – delicate, aromatic and surprisingly versatile. We dedicate a whole day to the popular scent of the island and show you how the delicate rose aroma can be harmoniously integrated into savory and sweet dishes.
Experience a special taste sensation that inspires the senses and celebrates the fine balance of flavors. The cooking class concludes with a 4-course meal, complete with paired wines and non-alcoholic beverages, served in the living room.

Together, we will embark on a short excursion to some of the island’s most beautiful spots for roses. At various outdoor locations, you can look forward to light snacks and refreshments featuring the Sylt rose prepared in a variety of ways. It is a relaxing tour of discovery through nature, complete with culinary stops and fascinating insights into this special bloom. In the evening, an atmospheric dinner awaits you at the restaurant themed “Floral Fragrance,” where the rose and other blossoms are showcased with finesse and creativity. Our sommelier team will serve carefully selected wines and non-alcoholic beverages to complement the meal.

To conclude Rose Week, a special breakfast in the style of the Söl’ring Hof awaits you—featuring selected products and exquisite details centered around the Sylt rose.
