What a setting—our North Sea suite with a sea view captures everything that makes a holiday on Sylt—and the island’s unique character—so tangible. Coziness, supreme comfort, spaciousness, and a breathtaking view of the North Sea combine to create a magical retreat where unwinding comes naturally. We promise!

The sleeping area and the bathroom are located on the upper, open mezzanine. Since the beginning of the year, guests have been able to enjoy a completely new bathroom. It was gutted entirely, and the large new glass door allows daylight to flood the room in all its glory. There is also a guest toilet in the suite’s entrance area.
The name of the seaside suite can be traced back to the courageous mother Merret Lassen, who was born in Rantum in 1789. She was the wife of Peter Lassen, with whom she had a total of 17 children. In the summer of 1825, the Danish King Frederik VI visited the family after hearing about the “capable and extremely handsome” Merret. The Lassens were forced to move twice, as their houses were destroyed by drifting sand and then by a storm surge.
The sea-view suite is not only very cozy; it also offers a great deal of space, as it is laid out over two levels. The lower living area features a fireplace and an elegant sofa, perfect for cozy reading sessions. Upstairs, on the open mezzanine of the North Sea Suite, you will find a sleeping area and a spacious, light-filled bathroom.
A fireplace in the room, space to unwind, and stylish décor in muted tones. Merret Lassen—the woman after whom the suite is named—would surely have loved to vacation in this Superior Suite with a sea view. Born on Sylt in 1789, she would certainly have delighted in climbing into the comfortable bed, listening to the cries of the seagulls in the morning, and enjoying a leisurely breakfast on the Söl’ring Hof terrace amidst sunshine and a gentle breeze. She would undoubtedly have savored a sauna session in this North Sea wellness suite—fitting it in between waking up and enjoying the tiered breakfast tray on the terrace.
