Lean back, relax and unwind in the cozy seaside maisonettes – on two floors. A spacious sofa and a comfortably furnished interior can be found on the lower level. In the Hotel with bathtub in the room facing the North Sea behind the dune. Or in short: the beauty of the island with all its facets right in front of you.

A bath in the tub is a real treat, as the view extends over the dunes to the sea horizon!
One of the island’s most important painters gave this maisonette its name: Andreas Dirks. He was born in Tinnum in 1865. Dirks spent his apprenticeship years in Weimar and Düsseldorf, where he attended the art schools there. His impressionistic works of art attracted attention far beyond the island. He died at the age of 57 in his adopted home of Düsseldorf. Streets in Tinnum and Westerland were named after him.
Clara Tiedemann is the namesake of the other large maisonette. Born in Flensburg, she was the island’s first celebrity landlady. Together with her husband, she settled in Kampen not far from the red cliff and built the “Kliffende” house with him, which was a guest house from 1925 to 1955. Thomas Mann, for example, once spent his vacation here, and the painter Emil Nolde set up a studio in the former hayloft of the house. Clara Tiedemann attached great importance to the selection of her guests, so most of them came on recommendation. She died in Stuttgart in 1979.
Marvel at the view from the room in the hotel hotel with a bathtub with a view of the impressive sea is hard to suppress. The view from the window on the lower floor is breathtaking. The view of the North Sea from the Hotel room with bathtub overlooking the North Sea on the top floor is hard to beat – a kind of prelude to an evening of fine dining in the 2-star restaurant or in the elegant living room with one of the vinophile treasures from our new “wine cellar”.
Our seaside maisonettes, the rooms with bathtub, are named after the pioneer of the cliff end and the painter of dreamlike dune landscapes – Clara Tiedemann and Andreas Dirks.
