Johannes King, born in 1963, grew up on his parents' farm in the Black Forest together with his nine brothers and sisters.
Following his catering apprenticeship, he completed culinary sojourns in Germany, Austria and
France, such as with Henry Levy in Berlin and Karl Schuhmacher in Wien-Oberlaa. Then, aged 25, he gained his first accolades as the Head Chef of the „Grand Slam“ restaurant in Berlin.

Since the summer of 2000, Johannes King has been preparing haute cuisine with a fresh hint of the ocean for his guests at the
Dorint Söl'ring Hof.
